2014 Valley Wide Chipping Program

With the conclusion of the 2012 "On Demand Neighborhood Chipping Program," the Big Bear Valley has had 7 successful chipping seasons due to the combined resources of The Big Bear Lake Fire Department, the Big Bear City Fire Department, and the San Bernardino County Fire Department. Our crews serviced over 1,850 requests, thus helping to eliminate over 592 tons of vegetation. The majority of chipping requests were picked up within two weeks. On our website: www.ThinIsIn.org, Big Bear Valley residents logged in over 2,700 hours of time spent creating defensible space.

in 2014 we were able to get some grant funding and the chipping program continued with many more tons of vegetation removed. 2014 was another successful year of growth for the "On Demand" neighborhood chipping program.

Thank you residents!
